As it turns out, that won’t change with the next generation either, as Samsung is expected to supply OLED displays for the iPhone 18 series, which will mark the iPhone’s 20th anniversary.On Weibo, a popular tipster, Digital Chat Station, claims that Apple has asked Samsung to develop a custom OLED panel without a polariser and with curves on all four sides.A display without a polariser is thinner, brighter, and more power-efficient than a conventional panel with one. One way to achieve this is through the Color Filter on Encapsulation (COE) technology, which removes the need for a separate polariser. Samsung already has this capability.As for the four-sided curved design, it could help eliminate bezels and improve the screen-to-body ratio, which. could enhance the device’s overall visual appeal, make the phone more compact, reduce distortion around the edges, and make edge swipes feel more natural.
