In the 3.0 Zenless Zone Zero Season 3 update, there will be a playable version of the Phaethon player avatar siblings Belle and Wise, with them fighting alongside Pyrois as an Agent. While we’re not completely sure how this will work yet, HoYoVerse shared an update on the the unit at HoYoLab. It also released a brief teaser trailer that shows how both the Belle and Wise versions of the character will look in official art. Editor’s Note: There will be references to some Season 2 Zenless Zone Zero spoilers in the Belle and Wise Pyrois Phaethon Agent announcement below. As HoYoVerse pointed out, Pyrois comes into existence as a result of the events in the Season 2 Zenless Zone Zero campaign and is a Etheric Other who seems to fight alongside Belle and Wise. Depending on which one you chose as your protagonist at the start of the game, that character will start showing corruption and the summoning of Pyrois as a result of constant Ether exposure so far. The developer’s description said that this is the first Phaethon faction character, and that our selected character will appear alongside Pyrois in Hollows. The description suggests our character will “fight shoulder-to-shoulder” with it and the Etheric Other will be alongside them protecting them. HoYoVerse also mentioned using this character will allow new exploration methods via Ether phenomena. To help better show how Pyrois will look, HoYoVerse shared a Zenless Zone Zero YouTube Short that highlights both the Belle and Wise versions of the new Phaethon playable Agent. We don’t actually see the pair in a fight. However, this does allow us to better view the distinct character art for each one of them. This video also confirms that the element for the unit is Ether and they will be an Attack type Agent. Before that character and 3.0 launches, we still need to get through Zenless Zone Zero 2.8. That debuts on May 6, 2026. It will close out Season 2’s story. It will also mark the debut of S-rank Agents Starlight Billy and Promeia. Zenless Zone Zero is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices, the Steam version is on the way, and the 2.8 update arrives on May 6, 2026.
