Ahead of the Golden Week 2026 holidays in Japan, Square Enix released a Switch 2 and Xbox Series X version of new Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy entry FFVII Rebirth. By the end of the day, it will be on both storefronts. The Microsoft Store already updated to show it is available. However, the Nintendo eShop has the listing, but doesn’t feature the link as of time fo writing. The company also offered a reminder about the pre-order bonuses for every edition of the game. The Switch 2 and Xbox Series X FFVII Rebirth demo doesn’t offer any bonus items for playing it. However, it does include a substantial slice of the game and allow us to create a save file that can be used in the full release. It picks up where FFVII Remake ended, with Cloud and the team in Kalm and him explaining how he met Sephiroth. That’s basically the full first chapter, and we can complete the second chapter as well. Here’s the latest trailer highlighting the demo experience.  In terms of what you get for pre-ordering, it varies depending on whether you go digital or physical and if you go with a standard download or Digital Deluxe option. It is possible to get a game-key card cart for the Switch 2, but there’s no Xbox physical option. Here’s the list of what each pre-order nets you: Standard Digital Edition: Digital art book, digital mini soundtrack, Magic Pot summon materia, Orchid Bracelet armor, and Reclaimant Choker accessory.  Digital Deluxe Edition: Digital art book, digital mini soundtrack, Magic Pot summon materia, Midgar Bangle MK II armor, Moogle Trio summon materia, Orchid Bracelet armor, Posh Chocobo summon materia, Shinra Bangle MK II armor, and Reclaimant Choker accessory.  Switch 2 Game-key Card: Zack Fair Magic the Gathering x Final Fantasy variant art card, Midgar Bangle MK II armor, Posh Chocobo summon materia, Shinra Bangle MK II armor, and reversible cover art.  Leading up to this, Square Enix and Asahi started a commercial promotion with Sephiroth in ads for Future Lemon Sour drinks.  Final Fantasy VII Remake is available for the Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
