Samsung smartphones come pre-installed with many apps from both the South Korean tech giant and Google. Some core features and services also function as separate apps. Every now and then, both companies release updates for these apps, and installing them is always a good idea, as they can bring security patches, bug fixes, performance improvements, and sometimes new features. However, updates for some of these apps don’t appear directly in the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store like regular apps. Instead, you have to manually visit their app listing to check for and install updates. Two such apps are Android System WebView and Google Play services, and Google has now released fresh updates for both and made them available for Samsung phones (via KAILASH).The latest update for Google Play services carries version 26.16.31 (260400-900800821), while that for Android System WebView carries version 147.0.7727.55. Unfortunately, their changelogs do not reveal the exact changes they bring. To get these updates, go to Settings > Apps > Android System WebView or Google Play Services > App details in store > Update. Google appears to have released these updates globally and made them available for all compatible Samsung phones.
