The official social media account for the series posted two unfinished pages as a sneak peek. As Shueisha includes the series on Manga Plus and Viz Media has it in its vault, In the sneak peek, we see that the year is now 2050. Everyone is working and living together peacefully, and they’ve collected lots of photos to remember trips and such by. There’s one photograph of Emma riding on a giraffe, which was her dream. The next panel sees Gilda calling for Ayshe and asking other characters if they’ve seen her. This means that this one-shot will probably focus on her. It follows a group of orphans who plan to escape from the orphanage after they learn that they’re being raised to be fodder for monsters. An anime adaptation of the series ran for twelve episodes in 2019, and a second season for it came out in 2021. The reception for the second season was quite poor. In the replies to the one-shot sneak peek, many people asked for a remake of the second season. Aside from an anime adaptation, The Promised Neverland also became a live-action film and a game, and crossover events appeared in games such as Identity V.
