Prime Minister Robert Abela has announced another key proposal from Partit Laburista’s electoral manifesto, this time focused on pensioners.Under the proposal, pensioners would be guaranteed an increase of €50 per week over the next five years, including annual cost of living adjustments.Labour said the measure forms part of a wider package aimed at improving the financial wellbeing of older people across Malta.According to the party, this and other related measures would result in more than €1 billion extra reaching pensioners over the next five years.The proposal is one of several economic and social pledges being announced as Malta heads toward the upcoming general election.•
