According to The New York Times, Cole Tomas Allen who carried out the shooting in Washington acted alone and was not shot or injured by security forces, but was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation.The federal prosecutor for the District of Columbia, Jeanine Pirro, said he is being charged with two counts: using a firearm during a violent crime and assaulting a federal employee with a dangerous weapon. The investigation is being led by the FBI’s counterterrorism unit.
