It’s extremely difficult, we have people who have been convicted of serious crimes who will be given a lesser sentence because the judge will consider how sentencing will affect the status of their visa. It’s honestly been a joke, currently we have a guy who killed 16 teenagers with an 18 wheeler, he was supposed to be deported on Monday and the judge just decided to let him stay until he gets the results for his compassion and humanitarian application (he says he will kill himself if he goes back to India). Another was just convicted and only sentenced to 18 months for attempting to kidnap a child. The guy had the kid in the car and everything but his dad showed up. Still won’t deport.
