Newmont: Lower Low & Lower HighNewmont CorporationBATS:NEMTradeStationNewmont more than doubled last year, but some traders may think the gold miner is stalling. The first pattern on today’s chart is the bullish continuation in late 2025: NEM held its rising 50-day simple moving average (SMA), made a higher lower and broke a falling trendline before continuing to a new record high. Now compare that with the recent price action: NEM fell under its 50-day SMA, made a lower low and failed to break a falling trendline. That contrast may suggest its uptrend is fading. Next, stochastics are dipping from an overbought condition. Finally, prices have slipped under the 8- and 21-day exponential moving averages (EMAs). That also differs from December and may reflect a weakening short-term trend. (See the shaded boxes.)
