A treatment order was also issued to help him address his drug problem.Ciantar made headlines in 2010 when he was charged with running over twin girls in Attard. He was driving at 102 km/h when he hit the 10-year-old sisters as they crossed the road after a catechism class on 28th April. He was initially jailed for two years and banned from driving for 10 years, although the ban was later reduced to six months on appeal.Since then, he has appeared in court on several occasions in connection with a range of charges. In particular, while the court upheld findings related to the incident, it reduced the driving ban imposed on Ciantar from a longer term to a shorter period following the appeal. The case forms part of a wider series of legal proceedings involving Ciantar over the years, which have included multiple driving-related offences and breaches of court orders. The latest decision marks a further reduction in penalties compared to the original sentencing handed down by the court.•
