A 29-year-old man residing in Ħamrun was injured after falling down a lift shaft while carrying out some works.The incident happened at around 4.30pm in Triq in-Nutar Debono, Naxxar. Preliminary investigations showed that the man fell approximately four storeys.Members of the Civil Protection Department and a medical team were called to the scene to assist, and an ambulance took him to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment, where he was found at risk of dying.Investigations by the Police, as well as those by the Occupational Health and Safety Authority, are ongoing.Magistrate Monica Borg Galea is leading an inquiry, while police investigations continue.•
