INCOIS flags rising marine heatwaves in Arabian Sea, warns of ecological impact - The HinduPublished - April 23, 2026 09:30 pm IST - HYDERABADThe Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) has reported that the Arabian Sea is experiencing significant thermal stress, raising concerns over coral reef health and deep‑sea fisheries, on Thursday.According to an official release, approximately 22% of the region is under a “Watch” category, 9% under “Alert”, and 5% under “Warning”, with sea surface temperatures exceeding the 90th percentile of climatological norms. INCOIS Director T.M.
