This week, a popular experience at Walt Disney World Resort announced that it was cutting its interactive experiences, limiting availability to weekends only. Amorette’s Patisserie previously offered cake-decorating classes to visitors at Disney Springs, seven days a week.Amorette’s Patisserie Cuts Cake ClassesWalt Disney World Resort recently updated its website to reflect that Amorette’s Patisserie is no longer offering its iconic cake-decorating classes on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. The experience is now available only once a day, from Friday to Sunday at 9:15 a.m.Credit: DisneyThe 90-minute cake-decorating classes include live instruction from a talented Disney pastry artist, along with insider stories about working in Walt Disney World Resort bakeries. The bakery offers two types of cakes for the decorating class, depending on the day of the week. Classes occur before Amorette’s Patisserie opens, offering a private experience for the pastry chef and students.On Fridays, guests decorate the Amorette’s Choice Dome Cake, which features lemon chiffon cake, white chocolate mousse, and strawberry pate de fruit jelly. On Saturdays and Sundays, guests decorate the iconic Mickey Mouse Dome Cake, featuring chocolate chiffon cake, milk chocolate mousse, and orange pate de fruit jelly. Guests receive a special “gift” for their participation, and can take their cakes home or back to their Disney Resort hotel rooms after the class ends.Credit: DisneyPreviously, Amorette’s Patisserie offered cake-decorating classes once a day, Monday through Sunday. The Mickey Mouse Dome Cake class was offered on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and the Amorette’s Choice Dome Cake class was offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The Disney Springs bakery didn’t explain its decision to cut its cake-decorating class offerings.The cake-decorating classes at Amorette’s Patisserie cost $199 for up to two guests and include the cake, decorating materials, and a spread of beverages, including specialty coffees, water, teas, and select alcoholic beverages. For $50, parties of two can add a second cake to their experience.
