Nationalist Party Leader Alex Borg is currently addressing a press conference to explain the meaning behind the party’s electoral slogan: “Nifs Ġdid” (A breath of fresh air).Borg said that this particular tagline was chosen because it reflects what people are telling the party across Malta and Gozo. This is what “you told us when we met you at your home, in your business, and at your workplace.”The party leader went on to say that the people are tired of traffic… a constant reality; are tired of the pressure to keep up with life; are tired of life becoming too expensive; are tired of a country led by a broken government. He also said that the people are tired of an economy that grows but does not always allow people to live better.Speaking under the message “Malta hija tal-poplu” (Malta belongs to the people), Borg said the country belongs to its people, not politicians. One of the proposals includes the introduction of a Child Trust Fund, aimed at giving every child a financial foundation for the future.Borg said the scheme is intended to support every mother and father who want the best opportunities for their children. He also noted that the Nationalisty party had previously already put forward this proposal, adding that Robert Abela had since adopted it.
