Steyr has a new series of straight-pull rifles. The RMS Wild builds on the Monobloc design, where the barrel and receiver are made from a single continuous piece of steel. Steyr’s New ATD & ATC: Hammer-Fired Pistols Hit the U.S. MarketSteyr is not a new hand at producing straight-pull rifles, with the M1895 Mannlicher Steyr in 8x50mmR being one of their most famous historical products. Unlike that military rifle, the RMS Wild is built from the ground up for hunting. It features a polymer stock with a slender design for quick handling on driven hunts, an adjustable cheek piece and trigger, and a threaded barrel. There is a small rail segment at the front of the handguard for bipod or tripod mounting and a rail along the top of the receiver.At launch, the RMS Wild is chambered in .308 Winchester or .30-06 Springfield. Both chamberings are offered in green or tan stocks. At this time, it only appears on Steyr’s European site, so we will have to wait and see if it makes it to the American market.
