It did come out like you were suggesting that because some people can work despite their disabilities, all disabled people could work if they tried. I'm sure that's not what you meant, but there are many, many people who genuinely think it's just a matter of willpower and that disabled people who aren't working are just lazy. Unfortunately they're usually also the kind of people who think they're the main character and everyone wants to know their opinion.
