President Myriam Spiteri Debono has met Pope Leo at the Vatican during an official visit this morning.The President of the Republic was received by the pontiff in a private audience before holding further talks with senior Vatican officials.Following the papal meeting, Spiteri Debono met Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, accompanied by Archbishop Paul R. Gallagher, the Vatican’s Secretary for Relations with States and International Organisations.According to the Holy See Press Office, discussions at the Secretariat of State were described as cordial and included an exchange of views on the current international situation.Particular focus was given to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine.The meeting marks one of President Spiteri Debono’s first high-level engagements at the Vatican since assuming office.Photo credits to @vaticannews•
