A MAGA couple who recorded themselves having a tantrum in a Smoothie King have somehow got what they wanted, managing to get two employees who refused to serve them fired. All too often we see entitled Karens demanding the rest of the world bend over backwards for them. More often than not the Karen usually just ends up making a fool of themselves and while the MAGA couple from the Smoothie King video certainly did that, this was one of the rare instances where filming yourself having a meltdown in public actually yielded some results. The video in question features a woman and her partner who, according to the woman, have just been refused service at their local Smoothie King due to her husband’s shirt. The shirt in question features Donald Trump’s name although it’s not clear what else is on the shirt. Race, sex, age, and sexual orientation are just some of the examples that laws like the Equality Act prevent discrimination against, according to HRC.org. Political ideology isn’t something that can be discriminated against, at least in a legal sense. Were the Smoothie King employees right? So the employees refusing service was not illegal. Had the couple called the police like they threatened there wouldn’t have been much the authorities could have done. On X, people debated who was in the wrong here. Many pointed to examples in the past in which businesses had refused to serve gay couples and not been punished. In short, the employees had every right to refuse service if they wished. Others disagreed. One individual, who prefaced their argument by stating they disliked Trump, stated, “a chain restaurant shouldn’t pick and choose service based on political ideology.” Plenty of others advised simply keeping politics out of it. Unfortunately for the two employees, it ended with them losing their jobs thanks to the negative attention the two entitled MAGAs had brought to the situation. pic.twitter.com/55sVeVGwRS— Smoothie King (@SmoothieKing) March 3, 2026 A statement released by the company stated that the franchise manager had clearly folded to the alt-right outrage, leaving two people without a job in an economy that has been ruined by the very man whose supporters they refused to serve. The lesson here is that if you have a tantrum and cause enough outrage online you can have always your way. While the employees may be out of a job, they’re not the ones who should be embarrassed, the MAGA couple acting like children in public should be, though.
