Our last defeat in this fixture was the 3-0 loss at the Emirates in May 2023. Chris Kavanagh, the referee for this fixture, infamously sent off Declan Rice against Brighton for 'delaying the restart' in the reverse fixture in 2024. Arsenal are currently unbeaten in their last 19 Premier League games that have kicked off at 7:00 PM or later (W14, D5). They haven't lost a "late" kick-off in over two years. 📸 Previously in this fixture... Arsenal welcomed Brighton to The Emirates just after Christmas last year in a tight game that ended 2-1 in favour of Arsenal, with goals from Odegaard, an own goal from Rutter, with Brighton clawing one back through Gomez. The goal from the captain was his second to last goal for Arsenal, with his last goal coming 3 days later against Aston Villa. We've already faced, and beaten, Brighton twice this season. Once at home in the league where we won 2-1, and the other at home in the EFL Cup where we won 2-0. This will be our first trip to the Amex since the 1-1 draw last January. Brighton haven't actually beaten Arsenal at the Amex since June 2020 in the game where Bernd Leno went off injured, and Emi Martinez gained a career. The name Neal Maupay probably still annoys many Gooners to read.. "Neal Maupay you are a cheat and I hope Brighton get relegated" - those were fun times... Anyway, Brighton haven't been on the best run of form in the league recently, managing 3 wins in their last 10 games, 2 of those wins coming against relegation fodder in Nottingham Forest and Burnley. Arsenal, on the other hand, come off of consecutive derby victories, although one was far more convincing than the other. Arsenal seem to be playing with a clear sense of fear on the pitch, especially in a drawn or close game state. Although we haven't lost there in almost 6 years and have a good recrod against them, Brighton away is never a fixture that makes me feel comfortable, and this is no exception. Man City welcome Nottingham Forest to The Emptyhad at the same time as our fixture in a game that they could probably win without even trying. This does remove the stress of playing after City, I doubt the players will be aware of the City game during their time on the pitch tomorrow. But this definitely feels like it could be more of a banana skin to us than Forest are to City. 9 games to go including this one. Anything less than a win is not enough, and I will be saying that for every game going forward, apart from maybe our visit to Manchester (if we have won all of our games leading up to it). https://anditsarsenal.com/2026/03/03/brighton-hove-albion-vs-arsenal-4th-march-2026-premier-league-match-preview/ submitted by /u/Mahoganychicken [link] [comments]
