Mark Bugembe, popularly known as Buchaman, has opened up about the leadership journey of Bobi Wine, asserting that his rise as Uganda’s leading opposition figure was destined and carefully built over time.According to Buchaman, Bobi Wine’s leadership qualities were evident long before his entry into mainstream politics. Buchaman on stageHe explained that their leadership foundation was laid during their early days in the ghetto, long before political ambitions took center stage.“I know that is his destiny at the moment because he is the top influential opposition leader today. It is his destiny because he loved it. Our leadership started from the Ghetto. It didn’t just come out of the blue.”Buchaman further revealed that he was the first to refer to Bobi Wine as “Ghetto President,” a title he says he intentionally popularized. He claims to have orchestrated symbolic gestures such as forming the Firebase “cabinet” and consistently saluting Bobi Wine in music videos to reinforce his leadership image.“I was the first to call him ‘ghetto president,’ and he knows it. I am the one who orchestrated everything that you saw—the firebase cabinet, saluting him as the ghetto president. There’s not a single one of his videos that I feature in without saluting him.”Eddy Kenzo slams Lil Pazo’s claims of neglecting struggling artistsHe added that the concept of a “Ghetto President” was inspired by the original version of the title from Jamaica, noting that leadership often emerges naturally. In his view, Bobi Wine’s transition into formal politics was simply an extension of a role he had already embraced within their community.“I started it all because the original ghetto president comes from Jamaica. These things have a leadership that’s just natural. So this political staff that he joined was just a mere addition.” @sanyukatvug Bobi Wine’s leadership journey began in the ghetto.- BuchaMan #SanyukaBigendaBitya #SanyukaUpdates ♬ original sound – Sanyuka TV The post Buchaman credits self for popularising Bobi Wine as ‘Ghetto President’ appeared first on MBU.
