On March 31, 2026, assets from the Great China Region (including Hong Kong and Macau) will no longer be available for purchase on the Unity Global Asset Store. According to a staff post on the discussion boards, this is due to “updated regional licensing, distribution, and compliance requirements.”If you’re not sure whether an asset you bought is from the Greater China Region, you can check this list. Unity users with affected assets should have also received an e-mail about it. As a note, you’ll not be able to buy them, but if you have the assets in your My Assets list before March 31, 2026, you’ll still be able to use them after that date. The publishers won’t be able to update or support them anymore, though. Unity will also offer refunds on these assets if you purchased them within the last six months. This appears to be a separation between the global market and the Chinese one. If you’re using Unity and you’re based in the Greater China Region, you won’t be able to access the Global Unity Asset Store after March 31, 2026. Like those outside the region, you can still download and use assets before that date. The separation between the Unity Global Asset Store and China’s will go into effect on March 31, 2026.The post Unity Assets From China Won’t Be Available Soon appeared first on Siliconera.
