3rd-KEE, $120k, Alw, 3yo/up, f, 5 1/2fT, 2:04p.m. ETLast seen a half-length shy of becoming a Grade I winner in just her second start, Hot Mash (Not This Time) will make her return to the races in this Keeneland contest against an experienced field of older fillies.Racing in this turf dash with Lasix for the first time, the daughter of red-hot Not This Time broke her maiden Aug. 11 at Ellis Park by an eye-catching 7 3/4 lengths after stalking the pacesetter through a brisk :20.27 opening quarter. After she left that performance, she went north to Woodbine for the Sept. 13 GI Natalma Stakes on the step-up to a mile. Battling gamely for most of that race, Hot Mash was rerallying in the shadow of the wire but could not overtake undefeated Corsia Veloce (Practical Joke). The morning line has this John Servis trainee at 3-1 odds, but with a steady worktab to her credit, and with brilliance in her running lines, she'll likely be much lower.  TJCIS PPs11th-KEE, $110k, Msw, 3yo, f, 7f, 6:20p.m. ETHailing from the female line responsible for sires Commissioner (A.P. Indy) and Vino Rosso (Curlin), She's Our Girl (Curlin) will be unveiled in the nightcap for trainer Peter Eurton and owners C R K Stable.Out of a half-sister to the aforementioned Commissioner, the daughter of Curlin is herself a half-sibling to a stakes horse, namely Squire Creek (Uncle Mo). Their dam Covenant also claims GSW & GISP Laugh Track (Distorted Humor) as a half-brother as well as Mythical Bride (Street Cry {Ire}), the mother of Breeders' Cup Classic hero Vino Rosso. GI Santa Anita Derby winner Practical Move (Practical Joke) is a distant relative to this group. She's Our Girl, a $550,000 KEESEP purchase in 2024, is 10-1 on the morning line and has three works over this surface under her belt.  TJCIS PPs10th-SA, $65k, Msw, 3-5yo, 6fT, 8:35p.m. ETDebuting against a mixed field of 3-year-olds and older runners, stablemates Kelce (Quality Road) and McGregor (McKinzie) will go to post for trainer Bob Baffert. The former, an $850,000 pick up in 2024 at FTSAUG, is out of MGSW Vertical Oak (Giant Oak), making him a half-brother to SW & GISP Giant Mischief (Into Mischief) and a winning 3-year-old filly last year named Awakening (Curlin). He's 8-1 on the morning line with solid works under his belt in the lead up to this race.McGregor, a $950,000 KEESEP buy, claims family near and dear to the locals as he's out of a half-sister to GI Del Mar Futurity and GI American Pharoah Stakes victor Cave Rock (Arrogate). Said mare, Take Charge Angel (Will Take Charge), was a three-time winner in her own right and has already produced a full-brother to McGregor who has gotten his picture taken on multiple occasions–namely Furio. The morning line has him tabbed at 7-2 odds.   TJCIS PPsThe post April 18 Insights: Grade I-Placed Hot Mash Returns, Expensive Sophomores Debut on Both Coasts appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
