Letters to The Editor — April 20, 2026 - The HinduPublished - April 20, 2026 12:24 am ISTRejection of BillThe address by the Prime Minister to the nation (Front page, “NDA will remove hurdles before women’s quota: PM”, April 19) was uncalled for and does not befit his stature. His rant against the Opposition on national television betrays the government’s inability to take defeat in its stride. The government is following a ‘my way or the highway’ approach by threatening Opposition parties with consequences merely because they rightfully rejected the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill. If the passage of the women’s reservation Bill is indeed the leitmotif of the government of the day, it should not shy away from delinking it from the delimitation Bill. The electorate cannot be taken for a ride any longer, and the government should stop crying foul.Published - April 20, 2026 12:24 am ISTSign in to unlock member-only benefits!Access 10 free stories every monthSave stories to read laterAccess to comment on every storySign-up/manage your newsletter subscriptions with a single clickGet notified by email for early access to discounts & offers on our products${ ind + 1 } ${ device }Last active - ${ la }
