In Friday's GII Baird Doubledogdare Stakes for females 4-years-old and up at Keeneland, GSW Alpine Princess (Classic Empire) will take on seven others, including GISW Gin Gin (Hightail).Currently a 5-year-old mare, Alpine Princess capped a strong 2025 campaign by winning the GIII Falls City Stakes at Churchill Downs in late November. Trainer Brad Cox gave the consistent bay two and half months away from the racetrack, then she returned to finish as the runner-up behind GI Apple Blossom Handicap heroine Claret Beret (Not This Time) in the GIII Royal Delta Stakes at Gulfstream Park Feb. 14.The 2-1 morning-line favorite in the Doubledogdare is Gin Gin. The Calumet homebred came off the bench to take the first top level race of her career in the GI Juddmonte Spinster Stakes at Keeneland in early October. Shipping to Del Mar for the GI Longines Breeders' Cup Distaff Stakes, the Brendan Walsh trainee broke through the gate and was reloaded, but she had to be eased before the end of the race. At Keeneland she will look to get back to her winning ways.Also making the gate in the Doubledogdare is Running Away (Gun Runner) and Eunomia (Tiz the Law).Running Away won the GIII Monmouth Oaks last summer for trainer Wesley Ward and was switched to the turf where she was well-beaten in the GIII Blackwood Dueling Grounds Oaks at Kentucky Downs last September.As for Eunomia, the 4-year-old was third in the Royal Delta, but the Saffie Joseph Jr. trainee cleared nicely in the Fasig-Tipton Sandy Bottom Stakes at Colonial Downs Mar. 14.The field includes MSW Aye Candy (Candy {Arg}), who is out of Joey Peacock's blue hen Rose's Desert (Desert God).
