On April 21, 2026, Toei announced that it established Toei Games. It will start by releasing PC games on Steam, and it will also release games on home consoles like the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch. It will reveal its first title on April 24, 2026, but there’s no expected release window for it yet. Toei Games will create and release new game-original IPs. The titles that it will announce will not be using existing IPs. Instead, they will be completely new. These will also apparently be worldwide games and not just from people in Japan, as the official press release mentioned “creators both domestic and international.” An official site and social media account are open, and they will be used for news and announcements. Kairosoft, a game developer company that focuses on sprite-based simulations, created the logo for Toei Games. Some of its games include Game Dev Story, Dungeon Village, and Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story. The brand logo is a pixel animation version of the Toei’s opening logo from its animated projects, which is called, “Waves on the Rough Shore.” According to the press release, members of Toei Games went to Kairosoft’s headquarters to ask members of that company to make it. The Toei Company, which was founded in 1949, is one of the biggest Japanese entertainment companies. It is known for its anime, tokusatsu, period dramas, and films. Some famous franchises and works it’s produced and released include Battle Royale, the Kamen Rider franchise, the Dragon Ball series, and One Piece. Toei Games will announce its first game on April 24, 2026.The post Toei Getting Into Publishing Games appeared first on Siliconera.
