Tyffon announced that it will release a VR Chocobo racing attraction based on Square Enix’s popular MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV. It is scheduled to come out in Japan October 2026. This is the first attempt to recreate the world of Final Fantasy XIV as a VR experience. As the concept suggests, in the game, players will race on Chocobos. According to the press release, Tyffon will combine its XR technology with Square Enix’s IP to create a immersive attraction that participants can see, hear, and feel. However, its initial details didn’t explain how this will happen. It’s possible there could be haptic feedback, fans, and surround sound used as part of it. The Final Fantasy XIV Chocobo racing attraction will open up in Tyffon’s XR theme park, which is called Tyffonium. Currently, there is only one location in Odaiba. However, it plans to expand domestically and internationally with new locations. Looking at Tyffonium’s website, you have to make reservations before you can experience its attractions. Prices start from 2,300 JPY ($14.50), and each attraction takes between twenty and thirty minutes to complete. Final Fantasy XIV is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. The 7.5 Part 1 patch will come out on April 28, 2026.
