The police in Mubende district are investigating a suspected strange homicide after a couple was found dead inside their home in Nabingola town council on Monday evening. The deceased have been identified as 37-year-old Ronald Tumusiime, a teacher, and his 40-year-old wife, Justine Kamukama, a businesswoman.According to Wamala regional police spokesperson, Lameck Kigozi, the incident came to light at around 5:00 p.m. after a neighbour, Elvis Senabulya, heard the couple’s two-year-old child crying from inside the locked house.Kigozi said the neighbour grew concerned and decided to check on the situation.“After peeping through a bedroom window, Senabulya saw the bodies of the couple lying on the floor in a pool of blood,” he said. The neighbour alerted local leaders, who in turn notified Nabingola police. Officers, together with the Mubende homicide team, responded to the scene and forced entry into the house, which had been locked from the inside.Preliminary findings indicate that the couple had been involved in a violent altercation prior to their deaths.“Police noted clear signs of a physical struggle, including broken household items scattered throughout the room. Both bodies had deep cut wounds,” Kigozi said.He condemned domestic violence and urged the public to seek help in abusive situations.“We condemn all forms of domestic violence and advise those in abusive marriages to report to authorities for assistance,” he said. The bodies were taken to Mubende hospital for postmortem examination as investigations into the matter continue. The post Mubende couple found dead, leave behind two-year-old child appeared first on The Observer.
