The House of Representatives on Thursday voted 224-204 to extend ‘Temporary Protected Status’ to 350,000 Haitians for three years.The Democrats cheered and broke out into applause after the measure passed.The vote came after seven Republicans bucked Trump earlier on Thursday and voted with the Democrats on a discharge petition to force a full floor House vote.Rep. Ayanna Pressley.“Extending TPS for Haiti is not only the moral and humanitarian thing to do—it’s also good policy. It’s good for families, it’s good for our economy, and it’s good for America,” Pressley said ahead of the vote. “Today the People’s House has an opportunity to pass our legislation to extend Haiti TPS and save lives.
