Springfield Armory's 1911 Garrison lineup has a new addition. The company has released the 1911 Garrison Target in both 9mm and .45 ACP, a pair of full-size, Government-profile 1911s built on the Garrison's hot salt blued forged steel foundation but fitted with an adjustable rear sight for shooters who want a more precise zero. Both variants carry an MSRP of $999. The Garrison Target shares the same foundation as the standard Garrison: a forged carbon steel slide and frame finished in blued steel, a 5-inch match grade forged stainless steel barrel with a 1:16 twist rate, and a GI-style recoil system. The checkered thinline wood grips feature a double-diamond pattern with Springfield's Crossed Cannon logo. Overall length is 8.6 inches and height is 5.5 inches. The 9mm variant weighs in at 40 oz., with the .45 ACP coming in at 39 oz. The single distinguishing upgrade over the standard Garrison is the sighting package. The Garrison Target replaces the fixed rear with a low-profile adjustable unit offering both windage and elevation control, paired with a white dot front sight. The combination is intended to give shooters a repeatable zero across different loads, which makes either version of the Garrison Target a reasonable candidate for club-level competition or simply more deliberate range work. The 9mm ships with a single 9-round stainless steel magazine, while the .45 ACP version includes a 7-round blued magazine. Each pistol ships in a soft-sided double-zipper case with a secondary pouch for a spare magazine.
