EquestriMalta, the regulatory authority for equastrian sports, supported RMJ Hourse Rescue and Second Change Horse Rescue launch new facilities that provide care through a dignified system after the horses retire.RMJ Horse Rescue and Second Chance Horse Rescue are two local NGOs that focus on rescuing, rehabilitating and caring for horses until they find permanent accommodation locally and internationally. The facility will include paddocks amongst other faculties that were installed and finalised in the past days. The faculties will offer the horses the adequate space where horses can spend their recreation time, tools for rehabilitation with control exercises as well as prepare them for adoption.The horses will be kept in Malta temporarily until they can be transferred to facilities abroad, most likely in the United Kingdom, where there are spaces and structures suitable for them.During a site visit, Sport Minister Clifton Grima said that this initiative continues to prove their commitment towards the wellbeing of animals.
