President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on to personally attack Fox News host Jessica Tarlov after a heated segment on The Five. The post was made while Trump was on Air Force One, heading to Las Vegas and Arizona. On that episode of The Five, Tarlov clashed with her conservative colleagues Kellyanne Conway and Greg Gutfeld. She brought up Trump’s 35 percent approval rating in most polls, and when Gutfeld argued that Trump is not a politician, Tarlov pushed back, saying, “He is! Stop saying that he’s just the host of The Apprentice who came to save us.” According to Mediaite, the argument escalated when Tarlov suggested that Trump’s political decisions align with his own bank account, hinting at self-enrichment during his time in office. Trump responded furiously on Truth Social afterward. Trump’s attacks on Tarlov come as real polling data spells trouble for his administration He called Tarlov “One of the Least Attractive and Talented People on all of Television” and said her voice is “grating and terrible.” The President added, “I had to ‘turn her off!'” and insisted the polls she cited were fake, writing, “I have among the best Poll Numbers I have ever had, and why shouldn’t I, ALL THE COUNTRY DOES IS WIN.” He also wrote, “GET HER OFF THE AIR, SHE IS BAD FOR OUR COUNTRY!” This behavior is part of a broader pattern of Trump selling merchandise tied to unconstitutional third-term ambitions and using his platform to push back against critics. Trump: "I’m on Air Force One heading to Las Vegas and Arizona for Greetings and Speeches on NO TAX ON TIPS, a WINDFALL for our Great American Citizens. His approval rating is currently sitting in the high 30s to low 40s. According to The Daily Beast, CNN data expert Harry Enten recently described the situation for the GOP as an “absolute disaster,” after progressive Democrat Analilia Mejia won New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District by nearly 20 percentage points, replacing former Rep. Mikie Sherrill. Kellyanne: Trump got elected on—Jessica: And what do people think of him now? He has a 35% approval rating in most polls.Gutfeld: He’s not a politician. Jessica: Yes, he is. Stop saying he’s just the host of The Apprentice who came to save us. He’s been in office twice.… pic.twitter.com/6qA9tLzbHb— Acyn (@Acyn) April 16, 2026 Enten pointed out that suburban voters were key to Trump winning the White House, but his net approval rating among registered voters in the suburbs is now 20 points underwater. Enten said, “So we are talking about an over 20-point shift. So what we see in New Jersey, to me, it’s going to be seen throughout the nation come this fall if these numbers hold.” White House Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair and Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina have both warned of significant trouble ahead in the 2026 midterms. A major factor behind this decline is the war with Iran, which Trump launched on February 28. A poll released this week found that only 24 percent of Americans believe the war has been worth the cost. Mejia’s campaign actively criticized Trump’s leadership and his decision to pardon those involved in the January 6 Capitol riots, and her landslide win suggests those arguments are resonating with voters. Meanwhile, the man behind the viral Trump AI Jesus image has also been quietly fueling controversy around the administration. Fox News has not responded to requests for comment.
