Dr. Annette Kezaabu, Chairperson of the Anti-Pornography Committee, has issued a strong warning to entertainment venues allegedly promoting pornographic acts, saying they risk arrest and closure if found culpable.Speaking at the Media Centre, Dr. Kezaabu explained that the committee had temporarily halted its operations due to an imposed suspension. However, with the restriction now lifted, she said the committee is set to resume its activities with renewed intensity.She specifically cautioned the management of New Best Hotel to put their affairs in order ahead of impending investigations. Dr. Kezaabu warned that anyone found engaging in or facilitating such activities would face law enforcement action.According to her, the committee had previously engaged the proprietor of New Best Hotel in several meetings. During these engagements, the proprietor reportedly signed multiple undertakings denying involvement in any illicit activities, emphasizing that he is also a parent.We are alerting the management of New Best Hotel and others that we are coming. We will either take offenders to the police or shut down their premises. I cannot count how many times we have engaged the proprietor, who has signed numerous undertakings.The warning was also extended to artists and entertainment industry stakeholders. Dr. Kezaabu revealed that the committee has held discussions with several artists and key industry players, including Swangz Avenue, regarding acceptable conduct.I called artists and we agreed on what to do.
