Maltese singer-songwriter Nicole Cassar has teamed up with Lovin Malta’s very own Gabriel Falzon, also known as Gabe Il-Babe, for their debut collaboration Lonely.The dreamy, bittersweet track blends pop, R&B and bossa nova influences, exploring themes of solitude, longing and self-acceptance.While Nicole has already made a name for herself with her music and viral Maltese-language covers, Lonely marks Gabe’s official debut into the music scene. What started as a joke quickly turned into a full track, with the pair writing the song in under an hour after Nicole shared an early beat.The song presents two perspectives. Nicole captures the feeling of being the “third wheel” and craving connection, while Gabe reflects on a quieter kind of loneliness, watching from afar and hesitating to take a chance.Together, the track delivers a message that while love is something we all seek, there’s also peace in learning to enjoy your own company.Nicole led the music production, while both artists contributed vocals and co-wrote the lyrics.
