The BJP has pledged a monthly allowance of Rs 5,000 for accredited journalists in West Bengal. This financial support aims to provide security for the media fraternity. The scheme will apply to all eligible journalists, regardless of their affiliation. The announcement was made by state BJP President Samik Bhattacharya. Elections in West Bengal are scheduled for April 23 and 29.
