This Is Where Traders Get Trapped-Spy Trade Set UpE-mini S&P 500 FuturesCME_MINI_DL:ES1!sentimenttimingThe bears are getting squeezed again… /ES is up +66 as I write this. Now the real question: Is this the final leg higher? It could be. Price is pushing directly into the upper boundary of the RST pattern I’ve been tracking. Could we push higher? Of course. But this is exactly where traders make the biggest mistake — chasing strength at the worst possible location. Let me be clear… Moves like this don’t sustain. When price goes vertical — in either direction — it retraces. The more extended the move becomes, the more aggressive the pullback tends to be. That’s not opinion. That’s the law of retracement. There is no “this time is different.” I’ve said repeatedly — I’m not trying to pick the exact top. That’s why every position I’ve taken has been hedged. Even though I’ve been expecting the downside to be the bigger opportunity, the long side has continued to pay… for now. But that will change. And today’s gap higher could very easily be the setup for it. Here’s what concerns me most: The bears are getting forced out. That short squeeze has been the fuel behind this move… and once that fuel is gone, there’s nothing left to support price on the way down. That’s when things change fast. Today’s gap is large enough to trigger a classic: “Fade Trade” into new highs This is a pattern that has been very reliable — it looks for the gap to get filled within 1–3 trading sessions. So what do you do here? You don’t chase. You wait. You let the market show you when the buying fails. That’s exactly what we track inside the Matrix — when liquidity shifts and moves stop working. 👉 If you don’t have the Matrix on your charts yet, now is the time. Because this is where the easy money flips sides. Don’t be the one chasing the move. Be the one waiting for it to fail. – Gary
