Dynaso Wegoso, the artist behind the infamous Mukube Paver song, has revealed that a new version of the song is complete and awaits UCC’s approval.A week ago, during a meeting with UCC, Dynaso was advised to modify the lyrics, while retaining the original beat, to shift from content perceived as inciting violence to messaging that encourages productivity and social responsibility.“When I went to UCC, I was asked to change the song by Hon. Nyombi Tembo. He highlighted that it was a song that incited violence,” Dynaso revealed.UCC suspends Dynaso Wegoso’s “Mukube Paver” over public safety concernsDespite initially standing his ground and defending his song as one he did without intentions of inciting violence, Wegoso claims that he later understood UCC’s point of view and agreed to change it.I didn’t do the song to promote violence. It was only to show what was happening in the country, but maybe I delivered that wrongly, and it sounded like I was commanding violence. I explained that to him (Hon. Nyombi Thembo), and he showed me how I could do the song better.He has now finished recording the new version of the song and The song is already done, but I have to submit it to UCC first, as I was told to first listen to and analyse it.
