Maltese MEP Thomas Bajada addresses the European Parliament, welcoming the European Commission’s approval of using emergency funding for fishermen affected by the higher fuel prices.During his address, Bajada said that in Malta the price of fuel has doubled, alongside an increase in the price of bait, hitting hard the small scale fishermen.He explained that as a result, consumers are also facing higher prices as fishermen find it harder and less safe to go out in sea.
