Environmental NGO Żibel has removed 2.7 tonnes of waste and marine debris from the seabed at Ta’ Xbiex marina following a large-scale clean-up carried out last Saturday. The operation brought together volunteers and partners to extract significant amounts of submerged waste, including 154 tyres recovered from the area.Crane assistance provided by YPC Cranes Malta enabled the team to remove heavier debris that would otherwise have been difficult to extract.Żibel highlighted the coordinated effort between its volunteers, known as the Żibel Tribe, and supporting partners, which contributed to the success of the operation. The organisation also thanked the Ta’ Xbiex Local Council, Creek Marina and Transport Malta for their cooperation throughout the clean-up. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)The initiative was supported by ElectroGas Malta, which helped fund and facilitate the operation.Żibel continues to carry out similar environmental clean-ups across Malta and Gozo, focusing on reducing marine pollution and raising awareness about the impact of waste on coastal and underwater ecosystems.Share with someone who should volunteer!Media credits to @alex__turnbull via @zibelofficial•
