/u/CrunchyTeatime on Someone in my town can’t afford a cat but wants one anyways for a friend (and it has to be a girl!)

Wait 5 sec.

The kitten would likely be let outside to 'use the toilet,' fed scraps, or the person would beg for food for it, or they'd drop it at a shelter, and only explain if pressed: "I just couldn't afford it." Things you should think of prior to adoption. Sadly there are so many pets out there without a home, really wonderful animals. I think I was made very allergic to cats so I wouldn't or couldn't have 100 of them 😵‍💫 although I know that's not a good situation either. Obviously, those types of cats wind up neglected and worse.
