By Mulengera ReportersOutgoing Rubanda West MP, who was defeated in the January elections, maintains that he was wronged by UBOS ED Chris Mukiza over the weekend as their respective vehicles collided while at a hotel in Kololo but adds that he can’t waste his time reporting to Police because he doesn’t trust the Force. This is a very controversial claim because it amounts to proclaiming a vote of no confidence in President Museveni’s government and the same could create political problems for Hon Moses Kamuntu as such claims aren’t expected to be made by someone who professes being a cadre of the National Resistance Movement. He says that he has deliberately avoided reporting Dr. Mukiza (who has vigorously denied claims of attempting to act violently during the alleged bust up on Saturday) anywhere at Police because he can’t expect any justice there since the UBOS chief is a proud and very powerful person in the country. The obscure legislator from Rubanda adds that, short of the UBOS boss parting with money to have his vehicle repaired, he will be dragging Dr. Mukiza to civil courts though he curiously doesn’t detail what his case is going to be and the law under which he intends to institute such a civil suit. He also claims to have CCTV footage as evidence for his impending suit, which can only be abandoned if Dr. Mukiza cooperates and accepts to part with money to facilitate the repairing of his car. UBOS SPEAKS OUT:Meanwhile, through their head PR Mr. Didacus Okoth, the UBOS on Monday outed a media statement making it clear that there was no such a thing involving Dr. Mukiza. The statement indicated that it’s regrettable the impugned news reporting (which they have declared defamatory) went viral on social media platforms and on Pheonix news app throughout Sunday, even when it wasn’t reflective of any truth. The Bureau’s media statement further indicated that Dr. Mukiza had personally been targeted in a scheme that is full of “malice and extortionist” intentions except that he stood firm while refusing to be cowed and manipulated. The UBOS official media statement also corroborated the Police position, as was repeatedly maintained by KMP publicist Luke Oweyisigyire throughout the weekend, namely that no such case had been reported against Dr. Mukiza to Police anywhere.
