Bayern Munich are set to advance their pursuit of Anthony Gordon, talkSPORT understands.Vincent Kompany’s side, who won their 35th Bundesliga title at the weekend, have made another winger this summer a top priority.Gordon has attracted the interest of Bayern ahead of the summerGettyThat’s despite an excellent debut season for left-winger Luis Diaz, in which the Colombian has scored 24 goals and provided 20 assists. Michael Olise has been equally impressive on the right with 18 goals and 29 assists. Neither player is for sale, despite links with Olise and Premier League clubs, yet Bayern have been searching for another winger since last summer for further depth. Gordon has now emerged as one of their top targets and is open to a move to the Bundesliga, even though a starting spot is by no means guaranteed due to Diaz’s form.Sources reveal the England international has already spoken to Harry Kane about the club. Newcastle open to Gordon saleNewcastle United are willing to sell providing their valuation of at least £75million is met, as The Times revealed, and that number could rise further if Premier League clubs enter the race.It is not thought that Newcastle will hold out for as high as £100m, despite some reports. Liverpool were offered Gordon in summer 2024 when Newcastle were urgently seeking sales to satisfy the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). talkSPORT understands a £70m deal was close to being sanctioned for Gordon with Joe Gomez moving the other way for £45m. Instead, Newcastle chose to sell Yankuba Minteh to Brighton and Elliot Anderson to Nottingham Forest. As it stands, Liverpool have not revisited a move for Gordon despite their historical interest. However, Arsenal and Manchester United do currently have Gordon under consideration. Newcastle are looking for a £70m fee for the wingerGettyBayern also are tracking Liverpool and Manchester United target Yan Diomande, but Gordon is understood to be their primary option. Sources close to the German side have told talkSPORT they value Gordon at £55m, a number Newcastle insiders claim they won’t entertain. After all, 25-year-old Gordon is contracted until 2030 and has no release clause in his contract. Bayern are now set to begin formal talks with Gordon before potentially making an approach to Newcastle. The Magpies are in for a busy yet challenging summer, with at least one star set to exit in order to help balance the books and fund incomings. This is largely why Newcastle are willing to sell Gordon at the right price. Sandro Tonali and Tino Livramento are both also drawing interest from Premier League clubs. Arsenal and Manchester City appreciate both players. United are also monitoring Tonali, but Newcastle’s £100m+ price tag means other options are currently ahead of the Newcastle midfielder. Tonali would love to return to Italy but the finances of a potential deal make that unlikely this summer. Kane and Gordon could be set to play together for both club and countryAFPNewcastle continue to back manager Eddie Howe after the 2-1 loss to Bournemouth which leaves the club 14th and six points off sixth place. Yet if they are to stick with and support Howe this summer, funds need to be brought in.Sources say the club are keen for this to happen quickly to avoid a saga similar to the departure of Alexander Isak, whose British transfer record move to Liverpool not only dragged on all summer but caused issues negotiating in the market and disrupted Howe’s pre-season.
