I don't need a moonshot here - ordinary is already extraordinary

I don't need a moonshot here - ordinary is already extraordinaryAST SpaceMobile, Inc. Class ABATS:ASTSredwingcoachASTS is one of my very very favorite stocks to trade. The way I do things, volatility is turned into an asset rather than a problem and almost no stock illustrates that better. Since Oct 9th, spanning just over 6 months, ASTS has done NOTHING. It is up a grand total of 12 cents. It has actually been one of the weakest rolling 6 month stretches for the stock since mid-2024. It is currently in the middle of its 6 month range. It is the very definition of mediocrity over this span. I bring that up because it emphasizes that you don't need a stock to be great to make great money. Especially when that stock is as twitchy as ASTS is. And ASTS is not unique, either. I just got done this morning with a backtest of a small cap biotech stock that was down 64% during my backtest period and this same method turned a profit of 185% over that span. You can see that during the strongest period of this 6 month view, from Nov 20th - Jan 29th when the stock had a 141% run-up, only 4 trades were placed and only one of the 4 produced an above average return. I don't need outperformance to outperform doing this. It's actually somewhat detrimental, since it provides me fewer entries. I LOVE LOVE LOVE sideways for what I''m doing. The biggest wins, in fact, were during sideways periods. Zooming out, if such things are important to you, ASTS is in a long term uptrend. We are not going to be doing less with space any time soon, and I think this is a golden opportunity here. I actually got in this morning at the open with a day trade, but the signal isn't valid until the end of the trading day, which is why I'm posting it now. I bought at the close today. There are 2 phases to my exit strategy here. My preferred exit will be a limit order 5% above today's closing price (91.26). My preference is to be taken out intraday tomorrow by a touch of that level. If that doesn't happen, the secondary exit is the first profitable close. The limit order stays on, however many days the trade takes, though. Until I get a FPC, I'm always hoping for the 5%. That would make it an above average trade and I'll always take those. As always, should tomorrow not pay me, I will add and subtract tactically until the original lot closes, following the same exit rules. After the idea is finished, if it becomes relevant, I'll discuss the rules I have in place for adding lots in this scenario. Hopefully, I will just be out tomorrow with a fat profit. We'll see. As always - this is intended as "edutainment" and my perspective on what I am or would be doing, not a recommendation for you to buy or sell. Act accordingly and invest at your own risk. DYOR and only make investments that make good financial sense for you in your current situation.
