He was the "golden child" of the office so it was actually pretty amazing he ended up being fired. But basically treated his coworkers like such shit they just stopped covering to make up for what little he did do. Without people quietly fixing his mistakes it became apparent he was an idiot. Unfortunately, even that wasn't enough to show him the door, because the owner and former president were enamored with him for some reason. (He was one of those types who droned on for a thousand words saying nothing.) What got him fired was he threw a tantrum that no one was supporting him and stopped pretending to work. And again, because no one was picking up his slack, he was let go for not doing his job. Unfortunately, it was not without taking a couple of our employees down with him as he was trying to CYA and shooting morale because others were fired for less than a fraction of his bullshit. I hate wishing ill on people, but I am really savoring them losing that house he acted like a raging asshole to get. (He got a promotion to secure it by claiming credit for others' work and then treated them like shit.)
