Second Season Of ‘The Assassin’ Is Being Shot In Malta

The second season of the British television series ‘The Assassin’ is being shot in various locations all over Malta.The filming has started on 16th February and is expected to wrap up on 5th June. The season includes six episodes of 60 minutes each, being directed and produced by Terry McDonough. Filming is taking place across many localities in Malta, including Valletta, Floriana, Rabat, Ħ’Attard, Mellieħa, Marsaskala and Siġġiewi, showcasing Malta’s versatility as a potential destination for international production.The production has a budget of €17.1 million, employing around 141 workers with 120 workers being Maltese. The production is benefitting from the 40% Cash Rebate from the Malta Film Commission.Film Commissioner Johann Grech said that productions like this contribute to the strengthening of Maltese film workers’ skills and Malta’s visibility in this sector.
