Rydstrom was announced as Wilfried Nancy's successor earlier this week after leaving Swedish side Malmo where he enjoyed two successful years with the club. The 49-year-old led Malmo to the Allsvenskan title in back-to-back seasons in 2023 and 2024, while also lifting the Swedish Cup in his debut season at the helm. He took charge of 84 league matches, winning 49 (D21 L14), seeing his team score 165 times as well as averaging a win percentage of 58.3% in the Swedish top flight.
