Guyana’s Rebel Tennis Club has stood out as its 19-player squad secured a staggering haul of trophies at the recent Jingle Ball Open in St Lucia.The four-day event, held at the National Racquet Center, saw the Guyana-based outfit claim titles in almost every major category, spearheaded by a dominant double-performance from Gerald Scotland.Under the guidance of head coach Andre Erskine, the Rebels demonstrated the depth of their talent pool, ranging from senior dominance to clinical performances in the junior “Red Ball” divisions.The headlines were stolen by Gerald Scotland, who proved untouchable in the senior brackets as he secured the Men’s Open singles title with a display of clinical baseline play before returning to the court alongside Denzel Luthers.The pair showed seamless chemistry to be crowned Men’s Open Doubles champions, cementing the club’s authority at the highest level of the tournament.The club’s investment in youth development was rewarded with a series of high-stakes victories. In the Boys U14 category, it was an all-Rebel affair as Joshua Culpeper took the winner’s trophy, edging out teammate Christian Pompey in a competitive final.Orange Ball Excellence: Olufemi Cuffy (Boys) and Khalia Luke (Girls) both secured championships. Luke’s victory was particularly sweet as she led a 1-2 finish for the club, with Liza Singh taking the runner-up spot.Red Ball Brilliance: The youngest members of the squad swept the board. Rahul Narayan (Boys) and the duo of Khloe Andrews and Kelly Doris (Girls) all claimed championship honors in their respective categories.The tactical discipline instilled by Coach Erskine was most evident in the doubles events.
