Once again, he has showered massive praise on both the film and its filmmaker. This time, speaking with Faridoon Shahryar on his YouTube channel, the veteran director lauded Aditya Dhar not only for his directorial instincts but also for the grounded, humble human being he is. RGV recounted that when he called Aditya to congratulate him on the film’s success, he was struck by Aditya’s humility. Aditya Dhar film has crossed Rs 1,000 crore globally and will soon enter Rs 1,100 crore club.Recalling the conversation, he said: “I’ll tell you about Aditya’s greatness, on a very personal level. I can’t remember anyone who talks like that. On a one-to-one phone call, he was constantly giving credit to all his technicians and actors. See, that’s something I usually hear on stage, ‘it’s a team effort, we all worked together,’ and so on. But in one-to-one phone calls, people usually take most of the credit themselves, which may even be deserved, I’m not saying it isn’t. But he kept talking about his editor, his DOP, his music director, his actors, everyone. You almost feel like he had nothing to do with the film. But here, it was just me and him, one-to-one, and he was giving credit to everybody. That says a lot about his largeness, his sensitivity, and his confidence.” RGV also expressed confidence in the sequel, predicting that Dhurandhar 2 will be an even bigger hit: “And I have a strong feeling that Dhurandhar 2 will be much more impactful than Dhurandhar. So that is what I meant by psychological play of violence, the very word Dakait itself. That guy got etched in my mind. He was hardly there for probably 20 minutes. But I can’t forget the face of Babu Dakait. That is what I mean by Mahabharata. Very realistic Mahabharata, for me.
