The Central government has increased the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) cadre strength in Uttar Pradesh from 652 to 683, effective December 31, 2025. This amendment aims to alleviate administrative pressure by bolstering senior duty posts, central and state deputation reserves, and training reserves. The revised structure accommodates more high-level assignments and aligns cadre strength with on-ground administrative needs.
