NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha said 2025 saw many successes for the district and hoped that the district would continue to grow in 2026. Participating in a press conference in Vijayawada on Wednesday, he said plans are being implemented across all sectors with a target of 18.5% annual growth in line with the Swarna Andhra goals. The Collector noted that across 315 key performance indicators related to various departments, the district stood top in the State with a score of 83. He said while the per capita income in 2023–24 was ₹3,21,651, the target for the current financial year is ₹4,17,412, and that progress is moving in line with these goals.Special focus is being placed on constituency-wise development, he said, citing the establishment of an additional dialysis centre at A. Konduru as an example. In line with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s goal of ‘One Family – One Entrepreneur’, steps are being taken to set up MSME parks in every constituency to boost local employment and economic growth, he said, adding that works have begun in three Assembly constituencies.Since the service sector accounts for a higher share in the district, innovative programmes are being implemented to develop the district as a tourism hub, he said, adding that the Andhra Taxi app and special tourism packages have also been introduced. He concluded that Vijayawada is not merely the headquarters of NTR district but also the gateway to the Amaravati capital city.Published - January 01, 2026 12:18 am IST
