My husband worked full time as the sole maintenance technician at a 100 unit condo complex (not in NYC) for 3 years. We lived there. He was on call 24/7, for three years, and earned crap wages, with no rent discount. We had one of the worst units in the complex too. He never once asked for or expected a tip from tenants. It wasn't their fault his employer sucked.
